Taking the Long Way Around

Overlander, Roanoke, VA

70 deg F, humid

PAX: Cat Scratch, Frack, Freddie Mac, Herschel, Legz, Pipeline

Q: Pipeline

The workout began with some light yogging. Everyone said we were taking the long way to get there even though no one but YHC knew where “there” was. Cat Scratch being in front was probably the issue. We moseyed down to Colonial and then up the street to the parking lot by the tennis courts, where a warmup ensued. Then, it was over the tennis courts for The Thang.

The Thang: Suicide Ladder. This is also the name of Manti’s favorite metal band. They have a new LP, “Fell Off the Roof and Died.” Run to end of court 1, do an exercise (5 burpees), run back. Then court 1, exercise, run back, run to court 2, exercise (10 merkins), run back. Then all that, plus court 3, exercise (20 big boys) and run back. Then, all that and back down to 2. THEN, all that and back down to 1. And do all of THAT twice, but with different exercises the second time around. (5 HRMs, 10 LBCs, and 20 Freddie Mercurys IC) Clear as mud?

After that was over, we yogged back in a more direct route to the parking lot and had four minutes of Mary. TAP to Cat Scratch’s son, who hit his head during a workout, and to Snake, who is battling gout. Cat Scratch took us away.

An honor and a privilege!
