Q: Pipeline
Today’s workout was The Whopper Jr. – all of the terrible fast food greasiness of The Whopper, but in a smaller wrapper. We did a quick 19 ft. yog to the tennis courts. After this, there was no more running. Then we squared up and did a warmup. At this point, Pipeline broke out a selection of tunes chosen especially for Cat Scratch, as well as the stopwatch app on his phone.
From the very beginning, Dairy Queen objected to the music. Cat Scratch objected to Dairy Queen’s objection.
Part One of The Whopper Jr. was a Burpee Test M***** F*****, but only half of one. So just a Burpee Test. The stopwatch began a countdown from five minutes and the PAX performed 50 burpees. Legz pointed out correctly that that was 10 per minute.
After that bit of fun, we stretched for a couple of minutes, caught our breath and moved on to Part Two of the Whopper Jr.: the 400 Merkin Challenge. It’s like Pinky’s 1,000 Merkin Challenge, but less. Pipeline set a Tabata timer which instructed the PAX to exercise every 30 seconds, at which time they performed eight merkins. 50 rounds, 25 minutes and a modest amount of complaining later, they had performed 400 merkins. Dairy Queen offered to pee on Pipeline’s phone.
Recover. Recover. Legz’s mom is doing well but may have lost some hearing at a Queen concert in her youth. Cat Scratch was probably at the same concert. Pipeline reported that he’d heard from Glee and posted a message on Slack. With no further news, we did name-o-rama and Pipeline took the group out with a prayer.
An honor and a privilege!
