PAX: Double Humpee, Piney, Cat Scratch

Q: Cat Scratch

3 PAX gathered for a comfortable 23 degree Wednesday morning.

Warm Ups

  • In the parking garage, each PAX grabs a sandbag and we head up to the West stairs to the middle of the first floor where we drop our bags a complete 5 hand release merkins. We then grab our bags and head to the opposite stairwell and run up to the second floor and stop in the middle of the floor, drop our bags and perform 5 regular merkins, pick up our bags and run to opposite stairwell and run up to next floor to the middle, drop bags and perform 5 burpees. We repeated this sequence for the next three floors to include the roof deck where there was still virgin snow, which made it more of a challenge, especially the running part.  Once complete, head down to ground level and drop our bags at the end of the stairs.

The Thang – Game Time – Roll, Pick, Exercise

  1. PAX Pick a 3×5 index card that has written on it the name of an exercise.
  2. Then roll a die numbered 1-12 to determine the number of reps for the exercise associated with the index cards and complete the exercise. For the index cards, rolls from 1-4 are multiplied by 5. Rolls of 4-7 are multiplied by 3 with the remaining numbers at face value.  Some exercises do not require a roll of the die, such as “Lunge Walk Halfway Up Ramp and Run Back”.
  3. Once you have performed an index card exercise, switch to roll the big 12-sided foam die that has a different exercise with the number of reps on each side (one side has a water break, which equates to Q’s choice, which is 25 squats).
  4. Then roll a traditional die numbered 1-6 to determine the parking garage level they will run up to using the west stairs, with a sandbag!  (Note: Somehow, no one rolled anything above a three!!!)
  5. After the stairs, alternate between the index cards and the large die for the exercises.
  6. Repeat.

We then gathered for some Mary that included flutter licks, box cutters, and big boys.

Recover, Recover.  Namorama. COT Great job everyone. An honor to be a part of this fine group of men.
