QIC: Earhart
The PAX: Pipeline, High Heels, Puffs, Hutz, Chunked, Cat Scratch YHC Earhart
Going on the F3Roanoke website, the map link takes me to Hidden Valley Middle School. I show up 15 minutes early only to realize I needed to go to Wasena Park. I had 10 minutes to go 8 miles! I came in hot, one minute late. Penalty burpees for me. Having not been to this park I needed to get my bearings, so I take the 6 HIM around the parking lot and then circle up for:
Warm Up
Good mornings
Cotton Pickers
SSH
Hillbillies
The Thang
Done with warm-ups, we head over to a bridge over the Roanoke River. That is perfect for 11s! Q instructs the PAX to run the length of the bridge, performing 1 burpee at the bottom and 10 starjumps at the top. We were welcoming with a, get out of the way, from one of the local runners. I was told that is not indicative of Roanoke hospitality 😊
Finished with our bridge work we line-up for a slow mosey Indian run around a small park, with the back person performing 5 diamond merkins and sprinting to the front. With two rounds of merkins done for each HIM, we head over to a small parking lot for some quick feet.
The parking lot afforded us the opportunity to bear crawl the lines and perform ascending merkins at each line, with a grand total of 10 merkins at the end.
Line-up in regular Indian run again we head back to bridge where we lunge walk across (too far for Q to bear crawl).
Now that the sun is out with a glorious sunrise to boot, Q can now see farther into the park where he spies a shelter with benches. We mosey over there and perform 15 of tabletop irkins, dips, left-right step-ups, and dirkins. We then take a break with a run out and back with two more rounds of 12 and 8 each of the same exercises.
Getting close to the bottom of the hour so we leave our shelter and head out to the parking lot for:
