Q – Pinky

PAX – Cake, 2Ply, Dunphy, Puffs, Twitch, Cat Scratch, Double Humpee, Herschel, Palm Olive, Seabiscuit, Klump, HC3, Frack, Pipeline, Cousin Eddy (a.k.a. Eldrick)

On a cool morning we assembled for the long awaited visit from 2Ply. Cake made a special request for a Pinky Q…and I was happy to fulfill the request. Since it was a Cake request you know there had to be lots of crawling (especially bear crawling). We were going to hit the deck from bear crawls and crawl bears in the stairwell, but alas, lots of stairs already this week so we modified. I promised no more stairs, and I (unlike others, apparently) kept my promise. So to the tennis courts we went….

Not warm-up:

Everyone knows I like big numbers, but Coco (of the Puff’s lineage) let me know that 2Ply loves to start with 100 SSH…HOW PERFECT so do I….so we started with 101 increasing speed SSH. I was right next to Cat Scratch and he was eerily quiet. Too quiet.

Then 10 merkins OYO. Still quiet. No mumble chatter from Cat Scratch. Frack suggested we need to do more SSHs (at least thats how I interpret his comment about this being a warm up)

20 Imp. Walkers IC.

Then 20 merkins OYO. Surely Cat Scratch sees the pattern, yet still quiet.

40 Rubios (maybe it was 50, I can’t remember) IC.

Then 30 merkins OYO.  Cat Scratch is still quiet.

16 WMH IC. Pax now acknowledge this IS a warm up. (Again, my interpretation)

40 merkins OYO. Quiet.

Arm circle – just 25 forward IC.

50 merkins OYO. Silence.

Now we are warm time to go…..

On our way to the soccer/football field we pause to give Twitch his marching orders:

Twitch’s workout: Thor’s Hammer

50 yard Hammer drag (crawl bear w/ sledge hammer). Stop at bucket and do 25 merkins. Then Latino Lunge to the paver (~50 yards). 20 paver presses. Latino Lunge back to the bucket, 25 merkins. Hammer drag back to start. 20 bicep curls with 25 lb weights. Repeat. modify as needed. Do not hit others (or Q) with hammer.

Everyone else’s workout: Animal hunt

Meet at the middle of the soccer/football field. As I give instructions for the animal hunts Dunphy notes Cat Scratches eery quiet and begins disruptive mumble chatter to confuse the PAX. We take a quick lap around the goal posts (Football not soccer) to quiet him down. He still doesn’t listen, so around the other goal posts we go. Back to the center.

Now on to the animal hunts. Partner up (Cake hates running so he went solo, more crawling less running for him). Partner 1 crawls south. Partner 2 runs north around the FOOTBALL goal posts (both) and then chases down their crawling partner. Once caught partner 2 carries partner 1 back to the middle of the field. Any mode of carry was acceptable, although I failed to see anyone actually perform the baby carry. Glee would have for sure. No rest. As soon as you finish switch and keep going. No rest.

We start with bear crawl. After a few rounds we switch to gorilla crawl. After a few rounds we switch to crab walk. No rest. Good time. Still no mumble chatter from Cat Scratch. Clearly he has laryngytist. Hope is gets better soon.

At 6:05 we head back to the tennis courts for Mary (-ish)…..

Tight circle and Leap Frog Merkins. 5 merkins every time you get jumped. 5 merkins was tough by the end. Puffs, our resident mathematician, informed us that each of us would do 173 merkins by the end (16-1×5=173). Riiiiggghht…..

50 LBCs IC.

Recover, recover.

Still quiet. Get well Cat Scratch.
