My promise of a joyous time was met with some skepticism, but what I had in mind as joyous was not the same for the Pax apparently.
Pax: Cat Scratch, Double Humpee, Prince Tuesday, Pipeline, and Legz
Q: Legz
Warm-Up: Take a yog around Gator and circle up at the gator parking lot to perform some WMH’s, good mornings, abe vigodas, SSH’s, RAC/BAC, and overhead claps. We continued on with the warm-up by performing a 10 minute EMOM. On the odd minutes, we had to complete 10 burpees in one minute. On the even minutes we had to complete 10 squats the first 30 seconds and plank for the last 30 seconds. Rinse and repeat for 10 minutes. There were moans of a great time coming from the Pax. We then mosey to the top parking lot of VWCC.
The Thang: First off, we have lights again at the top parking lot! My eyes filled with joy. Pipeline then noticed the nice sunrise from the top and I believe he got a little teary eyed. I told the Pax that my idea of having a joyous experience was seeing the sunrise from the top parking lot. First for this year I believe.
We performed some travel exercises and some other exercises once we reached our turnaround point starting from the first set of light poles at the parking lot.
Round 1: Bear Crawl to the second light pole, perform 10 plank jacks, and yog back to starting point. I apparently didn’t make it clear that we were doing several rounds because double humpee kept going and went down the hill. He and Pipeline were just talking about a bathroom incident that happened recently, so I thought it was just another bathroom incident.
Round 2: Crawl Bear to the 1st light pole, perform 10 shoulder taps, and yog back. Pipeline was happy we weren’t doing bear crawls.
Round 3: Before we started this round we saw a UFO like flying object in the sky that was glowing like a rocket heading towards the Roanoke Valley. Prince Tuesday assured us it was just an airplane, but still pretty awesome to see. We lunged walked backwards to the second light pole so we could watch the extraterrestrial phenomenon that was in the sky. As we were going backwards, we saw the glowing light get really bright all of sudden (similar to a small explosion) and the glowing sensation turn back into a plane as it got closer to landing. Once we reached the second light pole, we performed 10 merkins and headed back to the starting point.
Round 4: Inchworm to the first light pole, perform 10 Catalina winemixers, and back to the starting point. While we started the inch warms, the rest of the lights came on at the parking lot, so I thought for sure we were going to be abducted by aliens. Luckily, we survived.
We then performed a number of sprints and headed back to gator.
When we got back at gator, I explained I found this new exercise that really works the hips and glutes. I call it planking lateral raises. We did two rounds for 10 reps each leg.
Recover. Recover.

Great job fellas! It was a pleasure and I thought this was a joyful experience with the UFO sighting and the sunrise.
