#Overlander, 38 degrees
Pax: Cat Scratch, Dairy Queen, Pipeline, and Legz
Q: Legz
Since most of us proved we don’t have a career in baseball, I was thinking we could work on our basketball skills by doing some basketball drills at Overlander today.
Warm-Up: Burpees until Pipeline made it out of his car to join the group. Mosey around the parking lot and circled up in front of James Madison. Before exercises, I was recapping Herschel’s fall from Thursday. Performed WMH, Good Mornings, Abe Vigodas, SSH, forward Arm Circles, Rubios and Slow Rubios (Cat Scratch’s request), and overhead claps. Then mosey to the basketball courts.
The Thang: Basketball drills.
Round 1: Accelerate/Decelerate: Start at one end of the court and sprinted 1/3 of the court followed by a jog, then sprinted the last part of the court. I then had the pax pick an upper body exercise. DQ chose Carolina drydocks (Cat Scratch looked confused)
Round 2: Single Leg jumps. Start at one end of the court and did three hops on one leg and then three on the other. Repeat all the way to the end. Cat Scratch chose jack webbs.
Round 3: High Skips. Start at one end and focus on skipping for height and not distance to the other end. Pipeline chose ATM Merkins (Cat Scratch looked confused and asked for a demonstration)
Round 4: Long Skips. I chose balls to the walls for the exercise. (Cat Scratch started to complain)
Round 5: Zig zag run: Start at one corner and sprint to the opposite sides. Touch with hands and zig zag so you touch each side two times before making it to the end. DQ chose pop-up merkins. (Cat Scratch confused again)
Round 6: Side Shuffled. Change direction at half court. Cat Scratch chose overhead claps.
Round 7: Squat walk. Got in a squatting position and walked to the other end. Pipeline chose ?
Round 8: Broad Jumps from one end to the other. I chose merkins
Round 9: Suicides. Cat Scratch chose LBC’s.
Round 10: Suicides again since the last suicide didn’t go back to the original starting point per Cat Scratch. DQ chose diamond merkins.
We stopped basketball drills and went to 7’s. Started with 1 big boy and 6 hand release merkins and finished with 6 big boys and 1 hand release merkin. (Cat Scratch was really happy about this and said this is dumbest workout ever)
We then mosey around the baseball field where we stopped and did some burpees from time to time. Ended at the Gator parking lot where we did some Mary.
Recover. Recover! We all realized how wet our clothes were because of the basketball court drills. Apparently, it rained overnight.
Name-o-rama and then COT.
Great job fellas! It was a pleasure.
