Pain Train, Roanoke, VA
Conditions: 41 deg. F, calm
PAX: Cat Scratch, Double Humpee, Dunphy, Johnny 5, Pipeline, Puffs
Q: Pipeline
Four PAX…wait, check that, here comes Puffs…FIVE PAX joined us…hang on, here’s Johnny 5…SIX! Six PAX rolled up on the Pain Train parking lot as we did Side-Straddle Hops until everyone got there. The warmup continued, and then we walked over the median to the other side of the lot to get down to business.
The Thang: The PAX lined up on the north (parking deck) side of the lot in the parking spaces. I think they were all handicapped spaces. No judgement. One timer moseyed to the other side of the travel lane (the river side of the lot) and performed a travel down the curb while the PAX did a stationary exercise. The travel was a moving plank down a long length of the curb, hands on the curb, feet on the asphalt. (Hey! Language!) The timer called out a stationary exercise, which the PAX performed. Puffs was the first timer and called out burpees, which the French pronounce “f*ck you, Puffs.” Cat Scratch was next with merkins, and so on down the line. When everyone had gone, Puffs began another run through the line of PAX, but this time plank-traveling down the curb with his feet on the curb and hands on the asphalt. (Hey! Language!)
After this was complete, there was a quick yog (no running) to the far lot, where we did a bear crawl/merkin ladder in the parking spaces–bear crawl one space, one merkin, one space, two merkins, etc. to 10 merkins. Another quick yog (no running) back to the shovel flag. Recover. Recover.
Announcements: 3rd F tonight at Big Lick. Plenty of CSAUP action for 2021. EH a brother. Name-o-rama, which even the veterans like 45 I mean Double Humpee botched. Humpee took us away with a prayer.
An honor and a privilege!
