Overlander, Roanoke, VA
Conditions: 56 deg. F, rain
PAX: Cat Scratch, Dunphy, Frack, Pipeline
Qs: Frack and Pipeline
Four Men showed for a Friday the 13th workout in the rain at #Overlander.
Frack led the group to the south end of VWCC, warming up as we ran, and down a long, steep hill. We assumed this would be the hill we’d be running back up.
That was incorrect.
Frack pointed out another hill, which rose sharply and faded off into the darkness.
Pipeline then took over and announced we’d be doing a Pinky favorite, 50 Shades of Merkins.
Pipeline wasn’t certain if he did the routine correctly, but it was effective.
The PAX ran up the hill, which was crippling. At the top, they did 50 merkins and ran back down. At the bottom, 10 big boys, lying in the middle of the street in the rain. Then, back up the godawful hill for 40 merkins.
Back down for 20 big boys, and back up…up…up…for 30 merkins.
Repeat until we got to 40 big boys at the bottom, and then ran up the slightly less steep hill back to Virginia Western, where we did 10 merkins to make our 50.
Several of us nearly puked or crapped ourselves. Cat Scratch saw God. Frack, whose house was nearby, kept trying to just run home and end it.
Back to the cars. Ball of Man, six feet apart so we didn’t spread any viruses.
Let’s do it again tomorrow.
