We were 10 strong at Swift Donkey this morning for a tempo run on the greenway. The PAX ran over to the footbridge over the Roanoke River for some stretching, then self-segregated into an 8:30/mile group and a 9:30/mile group. The goal was to run to Black Dog Salvage at a “working” pace and then return at recovery speed. But once the horses were unleashed, we had to let the herd run. The lead group clocked a couple of sub-8s and the rest weren’t far behind. We stretched, ran back to the footbridge, stretched again and regrouped, then headed back to the corral. El Chapo did not notice the chain blocking the parking lot and took a header, but did minimal damage to the ashphalt with his face.
A good time was had by all most a few.
An honor and a pleasure!
