Pain Train, Roanoke, VA
Conditions: 72 deg. F, rain, thunder, lightning
PAX: Home Depot (FNG), Pipeline, Virginia Creeper
Q: Pipeline apparently
Well, YHC seriously considered a morning off after a week straight of posting and a 13-mile run in Carvins Cove the day before. But I chose to stay hard and it’s a good thing. On walking out the front door, I discovered the rain and saw the lightning. Seeing no Q on the sheet, I put an audible on Slack to head to the deck. Shortly after pulling in, Virginia Creeper and his FNG pulled in. Game on!
I gave the disclaimer and we did a brief warmup. Then it was time to work the ramps. The PAX took turns calling an upper body or core exercise and then running up or down the ramps as the case may be, sometimes throwing in a bear crawl, crab walk or Everest. A little Mary and then it was 6:15.
Recover. Recover. The FNG is a landscaper so we chose Home Depot for his nickname. I hope he’s not a Lowe’s man. COT and yours truly took us away.
An honor and a privilege!
