Q – Pinky
PAX – Tollbooth, Herschel, Pipeline, Seabiscuit, Double Humpee, Catscratch, Glow (from Greensboro), JV, Puffs (there may have been more….but it was dark, and I didn’t have glasses on, and most of the time we were in what seemed like shoulder-deep grass….only TollBooth was visible)
4:45 I scramble around my porch (through my buckets of F3 torture devices)…can’t find damn cones. Probably woke up neighbors cursing and throwing stuff. To the garage. Still no cones. By 4:55 I was beginning to wake up…then i remembered i left them in Twitch’s car. I’m an idiot. Leave to go get coffee to keep waking up.
5:15 Arrive at AO. Pipeline arrives shortly after me. By foot. Said he ran Mill Mountain and then over to the AO.
5:28 While I am still thinking of new exercises for us to do since my plans were foiled by Twitch (or me really) Seabiscuit rolls in. He has cones. Its a Christmas miracle.
5:30 we head to the soccer fields for Recess.
5:31 We arrive at the soccer fields. I think. Its hard to tell really. I think there were soccer goals there but even they were hard to see. Apparently mowing the grass is optional at this school. We could have been in a wheat field. Were we lost?
5:32. I remember images of crop fields where aliens leveled the wheat. Seems like a good option to get this grass/wheat out of our way. So we ran. And ran. And ran. One lap and back. One lap and back. One lap and back. Some of the grass was lying down now.
5:33. Circle up. First activity Duck, Duck Goose. We have done this before in F3 and likely as kids, but Cat Scratch just doesn’t get it. While the person that is “it” starts running (me) everyone else does SSH. I tap Cat Scratch and I don’t really know what happened next but he certainly didn’t chase me around the circle. I think he ran the wrong way. (later in the game he got tapped and just stood there waiting for the tapper to run back to his spot where he was waiting). Seriously didn’t you play this game as a kid???
5:42. Warm up over. Only one or two crashes. Grass still too high. More running. 50% effort down the soccer field, 100-110% effort way back X 3.
5:45. Sharks and Minnows. Toolbooth started us off picking the shark and the exercise (running backwards). When a minnow is caught by the shark they owe 5 burpees. Several rounds. Modes of travel included bear crawling, gorilla crawling, Latin lunging, crab walking, and finally inch worming (which was like watching slugs hunt down prey)
6:10 collect cones (still barely visible in the grass) and return to cars.
6:13 50 LBCs in cadence (with increasing velocity for Catscratch)
6:15 recover recover.
Recess over. Try to degrass yourself before getting into your vehicle. Have a great friday!
