Traveling Cinderblocks

  • Wake up Messi, “You coming to F3?”  “Yes, of course!”

0550 (In car – leaving home)

  • Messi asks, “What are we doing today?”  “No idea, what do you want to do?”
  • “We could use those blocks”  (done)
  • “We could do some running”  (done)

0625 (arrive at #Star City)

Warm-up:

Jog a lap in hopes that the PAX will grow before we finish the lap – Success.  We got one more!

Grab a cinder block (Man this feels heavier every time I pick it up!) and mosey with block on R shoulder.  After ~200 yards we stop for some SSH x 25 IC.  Continue with block on L shoulder, up the hill and onto the football field.  WMH x 15 IC.  The run up the stairs (~3-4 flights) and around the school for some wind mills x 15 IC (SLOWLY – You got that Blind Spot?!), arm circles x 25 IC, Merkins x 10 IC, and Rubios on the curb x 15 IC.

The Thang:

4 light poles – a lot of exercises.

  1. Run to 1st light pole (~70 yards) with Cinder block on shoulder.  Perform 10 overhead presses and run back for 10 curls
  2. Run to 2nd light pole (~80 yards) sans blocks and do 5 burpees – run back and do the people’s chair with cinder block pass
  3. Run to 3rd light pole (~90 yards) for 20 LBCs.  Run back for 5 pop-up merkins OYO (double count) onto the cinder blocks
  4. Run to 4th light pole (~100 yards) for 50 Jane Fondas IC, Run back for 5 more pop-up Merkins and some leg lifts.  After 5 more Pop-up Merkins, we grab the blocks and begin the trip back to the cars, stopping along the way for a few more exercises.
  • Monkey Humpers x 25 IC
  • arm circles x 20 IC
  • overhead presses x 20 IC
  • finally a spirited 200 yard run with the blocks back to the cars.

  • Flutter kicks to Puff’s count
  • Penguin crunches to Cat Scratch’s count
  • LBCs to Herschel’s count
