PAX: Manti, Space Jam, Glee, Zebra, Bobtail, Goldberg, Ari Gold, Commodore, Blindspot, Charlatan, Cat Scratch, Dunphy
It was the gloomiest gloom that ever gloomed this morning in Salem for 12 hearty PAX…and it was WET. By Glee’s request, we brought out the sandbags for some relays…but these were some new versions that shall be added to the rotation at Sparta!
Warm Up:
Run the stadium stands, twice. (Commodore already regretting/laughing that we talked him into posting today.)
SSH x25, Jack Webbs x10, IW x 26, JW x20, Squats x24, JW x20, Stagger Merkins R x10, Stagger Merkins L x10, JW x20
Must have been an emphatic warm up…because Zebra remarked: “Is it getting darker, or am I blacking out?”
RELAY 1:
Four teams of three form up behind a sandbag on the sideline closest to stadium stands. One PAX takes the sandbag to the top of the stands and back. Next PAX is on the first hash doing brick work: 10 JW, 10 Curls, 10 Tricep Ext, 10 Brick Merkins, repeato until tagged. Third PAX is on the second hash doing deconstructed burpees: 5 Squats, 5 Merkins, 5 Plank Jacks, 5 Jack Webbs, repeato until tagged.
First PAX finishes his sandbag carry at sideline then runs to second hash, tags out burpee teammate who runs and tags out bricker teammate, who moves on to sandbag carry. Repeato until everyone has done two sandbag carries, then SSH until all teams complete.
RELAY 2:
Same teams line up behind sandbags at sideline. First PAX does death merkin (from plank, drag sandbag, then do 3 merkins, repeato) toward other sideline. Second PAX runs to other sideline and back to third PAX doing LBCs. Third PAX runs to death merkins and continues sandbag traveling across field. Repeat until all the way across field. Plank it out until all complete.
RELAY 3:
Same teams must bear crawl together and bring sandbag back to other sideline. Multiple methods observed, but Zebra’s team crushed it with some sort of sled push strategy. Noted. Flutter kicks until all complete…and then some.
Mary:
We were basically out of time, but the PAX indulged me and we finished by sending two PAX up the stadium stands again with TWO WET sandbags…EACH. Rest of PAX rotated Mary exercises until almost everyone got the humbling chance to complete this last feat. Goldberg was last, but definitely not least and crushed his ascent.
6:20 Finish…thankfully no ones kids back to school yet, so no one had to split early.
It was a pleasure and an honor to lead this group of #HIMs this morning.
